I'm not going to pay for the subscription to access the full story so take it with a grain of salt.I was trying to find a current story on Cumulus and CBS and came across this.Its dated last week.

Yeah, Jerry really hit it out of the park with his prediction about the CBS/Cumulus merger... NOT.

I have no problem paying for content, but I really believe he dreams up these lame teasers to get you to subscribe.

There just aren't any PEOPLE left to do any "major" layoffs, or as CCM+E likes to call them, "reductions in force." I think you'll see continual quiet layoffs of a dozen people or less a couple of times a year, but there just aren't enough bodies left to do major 100+ person layoffs.

I think there should be an investigation about Clear Channel and the US Treasury Department should break up the damn conglomerate! Sell off all 850 radio stations to local groups and let them program for their local markets. They can keep their Premiere Radio Networks syndication arm and sell their programs to all the radio stations across the world.

It's big, but it's not a monopoly. Federal intervention is a utopian pipe dream.
