Are you parting out a post 1980 5 KW Harris/Gates Transmitter? Please read....

Due to water damage I need two filter chokes from one of these transmitters. Almost all of them have the same specs, or close enough to work. Peter Dahl is out of business, and the successor does not offer. I am referring to the chokes in the HV power supply. Check that old junker and advise, Thanks...JBI

Have a Harris 10K in the garage (not my home--the radio station--which is in a home).

The plate transformer has been sold to a good home in Columbus, Indiana for an "H"...but other parts are available if anyone is in need. Was told the box was working when pulled, but no guarantee, obviously, on anything this old.

Located in northern WV.

HMM.. PM system fighting me; here's the spec's on one of the chokes:

2 Henry at 3 amps. Plate voltage is sitting just above 6 kv on the 10K I've got on the air ( was thinking it was lower--that transmitter just runs, so easy to forget some parameters).

The choke sits vertically--12" high, 81/2 wide by 61/2 deep, the narrow sides have the mounting ears. Heavy--I would guess 50~60 pounds.

Gates (yes Gates--that's the label on the choke) part number 476-0168-000-HD.

There is also a 10 Henry choke shown on the schematic. It's someplace in the garage--am thinking that is smaller.
