Sorry, but i don't think there are 4 listeners per radio in the U.S., whether it's satellite or terrestrial. I'll give you 20 million satellite listeners, but I think even that's high.

When I said that most people I know who listen to satellite never listened to regular radio anyway, you replied, "This is an ethnocentric perspective and can not be used to generalize satellite radio listeners." HUH? What does this even mean? Ethnocentric describes someone who's a racist. Look it up. Can you explain this?

As for investors being patient, they'll have to be LESS patient than XM and Sirius stockholders. Those folks will be waiting years for a profit. If stockholders have any intelligence at all, they'll understand that digital multi-casting is the future.

HD will be available within the next two years. Not a decade. It's already technically working. There's money to be made.

As for the HD radios, they'll come down in price. I would have never bought an HDTV until recently. When they got closer to $1000 than $5000, that's when I bought one.

On the ethnocentric statement maybe I spelled it wrong but the context I meant was a veiw that was encompased in ones own experience not race.

As far as HD radio I still don't see it being anything more than New Coke unless radios are in the 10-20 dollar range.

I have one word for you: Betamax. Too little, too late.
While investors are waiting the two years that you say for HD to be available, XM and Sirius will already be on their second or third generation of innovation.

That's a poor comparison. The same stuff comes out of your tube set and your HDTV. Plus, come 2009, is it? you will have to have an HDTV set in order to watch television. The technological decision has been made for you. There are many, many alternatives for audio entertainment.

You were the one who made the "two years" reference, O. I read the rollout post. Success will depend on whether companies can convince consumers that this is something they need on top of all the other audio they already have. It's all speculation at this point.

Glad you edited your last post. Wouldn't want Mattinradio to put you in Time Out again.
