Aren't we due for a channel line up update?

Sirius (and I think XM) used to revamp and update their channels from time to time, while adding some and dropping others. But i've noticed, they haven't done any update for a long time now. In fact, on Sirius, some of the channels still show the old channel names like "Pop 2k" so they haven't had any updates for over an year? What's up with that...

It's a big complaint on the Sirius XM message boards. They haven't had a channel update since January 2009 and as more channels get changed the displays are looking more ridiculous. Channel 90, MSNBC, still says JBC Radio Korea. XM doesn't need to do these updates. They can change radio display information at the push of a keystroke.

Yeah, and XM can do "A LA Carte" on every radio they ever made too, but they don't at all - they leave that to the two newest Sirius radios only.

There’s a report (you can take that word with a grain of salt) on Digital Radio Central that the update is going to happen on May 5, and that they will make all the channels (at least the music channels) the same on both services.

DISH Network sent an email to its retailers on Monday Night informing them of the Sirius Lineup Change on May 5th. (DISH only carries the Sirius Music Channels)

The DISH Lineup mirrors the Sirius music Lineup except the channel numbers start with a 6000.

Here is the lineup that was given to the DISH retailers on Monday.

When this big rearrangement shows up it will also kill any 'free' old unsubscribed radios, so there will lots of moaning and groaning and gnashing of teeth on May 5th is the big channel re-do is for real as "updating" is the deathknell for their radios!

Hey ScottG, the link does not work, can you please re-post?

they have decided to merge (i guess) sirius left and america left. sirixm in their grand wisdom provided a link to the programming on the upcoming channel that does not exist or has not been uploaded yet. same with their online left channel. does anyone have any idea of who is going to be on which channel when?

Alex Bennet explained the new "Left" line-up on Thurs. His show will now be 7-10 a.m. and Lynn Samuels moves to Sirius Stars.
