This is the first-round election. Not all stations have selected a final channel in this round. Current analog channel is in parentheses:

Douglas
KFTU (3) No selection

Flagstaff
KNAZ (2) 2
KTFL (4) 18
KCFG (9) 32
KFPH (13) 13

Holbrook
KPHZ (11) 11

Kingman
KMOH (6) 19

Phoenix Metro
KTVK (3) 24
KPHO (5) 17
KAET (8) No selection
KSAZ (10) 10
KPNX (12) 12
KNXV (15) 15
KPAZ (21) 20
KTVW (33) 33
KDTP (39) 39
KUTP (45) 26
KPPX (51) 51
KASW (61) 49

Prescott
KAZT (7) 7

Tucson Metro
KVOA (4) 23
KUAT (6) 30
KGUN (9) 9
KMSB (11) 25
KOLD (13) 32
KTTU (18) 19
KUAS (27) 28
KHRR (40) 40
KUVE (46) 46
KWBA (58) 44

Yuma
KYMA (11) 11
KSWT (13) 16

If the FCC ever makes up its mind and removes Chs 2-6 from the new TV spectrum, I think KNAZ would take Channel 9 since KCFG is moving to UHF. I also think KAET will elect to stay on Channel 8 (Why wouldn't they unless it's a cost issue concerning a new transmitter?). KFTU Douglas could move to 11 or 13 depending on what agreements we have with Mexico on DTV assignments.

Any guesses as to why KAET isn't included? They elected ch. 8 in the first-round. Did they change their mind, was it just an FCC oversight, or were they one of the 160 licensees whose NTSC channel election would result in impermissible interference with another station (although I can't imagine why, if they don't have that problem with analog now)?

Also, while licensed to California cities, KVYE, KECY and KAJB have their transmitters at the same location as KYMA and KSWT and serve Yuma. Here are their first-round elections:

El Centro
KVYE (7) 22
KECY (9) 9

Calipatria
KAJB (54) No selection - participating in round 2

KAJB was assigned ch. 50, but chose to release their allotment to participate in the 2nd round. Entravision-owned KVYE is vacating channel 7, and Entravision runs sales and marketing at KAJB via an LMA, so I'd be willing to bet that KAJB will choose ch. 7 in round 2.
Edited by dhett on 06/28/05 05:56 AM.

It's an overisght. I don't see KTTV Los Angeles in the list either, but they elected to remain on Channel 11.

KFTU Douglas doesn't have a separate DTV allocation. My guess is, since they would have to use Channel 3 for DTV, they'll have the opportunity to participate in the 2nd or 3rd round.

I think you're right. KFTU, KDTP and KPHZ all received their licenses too late to be eligible for a second DTV channel assignment, but unlike the other two, KFTU's low VHF channel is unsuitable for DTV, so they're eligible to participate in the 2nd round IIRC.
