The FCC has opened up a filing window for applications for new digital low-power television stations to serve rural communities. Rural is defined as at least 121 km (75 mi) from the reference point of a major city, as defined in FCC rules. In Arizona, acceptable sites would have to be outside the 121 km radius of Phoenix, Tucson, and Las Vegas NV.
