New license
- KUTP-DT has applied for a license to cover its pre-transition DTV facilities on channel 26.
- K30ES Globe (Globe LPTV) has applied for a license to cover construction of its facilities on Usery Mountain in Mesa, completing its move from Globe to the Phoenix metro area. I have not seen a signal from it.
Silent station
- KCOS-LP 28 Phoenix (Aracelis Ortiz Corporation) is silent. With K30ES and K57HX also silent, no signals from Usery Mountain are broadcasting.
Transactions
- The FCC has approved the restructuring of ownership of the Univision and Telefutura stations in Arizona. KTVW-CA 6 Doney Park/Flagstaff, KDOS-LP 50 Globe and KZOL-LP 15 Safford are all repeaters of and under the same licensee as KTVW-TV 33 Phoenix, KTVW License Partnership. KUVE-CA 38 Tucson is a repeater of and under the same license as KUVE-TV 46 Green Valley, Univision Tucson LLC. KFPH-TV 13 Flagstaff and KFTU-TV 3 Douglas are each under their own licensees, Telefutura Partnership of Flagstaff and Douglas, respectively. KFPH-CA 35 Phoenix, K16FB Globe and K21GC Safford are under the same licensee, Telefutura Partnership of Phoenix. KFTU-CA and K48GX are under the same licensee, Telefutura Partnership of Tucson.
- K53JA Flagstaff (Howard Mintz), a construction permit, is to be sold to EICB-TV East, along with 20 other LPTV stations the Mintz family owns. EICB - Excellence In Christian Broadcasting - programs their stations mostly with Christian and family fare, both in English and in Spanish. An Almavision station in the future, perhaps? The sale is pending approval from the FCC.
- The sale of KMOH-TV 6 Kingman to Hero LicenseCo has been consummated.
- The transfer of K33CG Sierra Vista from Richard Richards to his daughter, Florida Mae Balfour, has been consummated
New construction permits
- KNAZ-TV 2 Flagstaff (Multimedia Holdings) has been granted a construction permit for its post-transition facilities.
Special temporary authorizations granted
- KPHE-LP 44 Phoenix (Lotus TV of Phoenix) has been granted STA to continue operations at 150 kW.
Applications not yet granted
- KWTA-LP 31 Tucson (Venture Technologies Group) has applied for authorization to flash cut to digital on its current analog channel. I suppose that means it will not be moving its facilities to channel 51, for which it had recently been granted a construction permit.
- KSAZ-TV 10 Phoenix (KSAZ License) has submitted an application for its post-transition DTV facilities. Ch: 10; TL: 33-20-3 N, 112-3-43 W; HAAT: 558 m; ERP: 20 kW
- K44BB Window Rock (The Navajo Nation) has applied for a transmitter location change. The new location is to be in Window Rock, near the airport, and will serve more of the town. Although I have never been able to receive the station, it is supposed to be a repeater for KNME 5 Albuquerque.
