Arizona TV Station Update - April 2025

As always, questions, additions, comments and corrections welcome.

New Licenses
  • KGRF-LD 29.1 (21) Gila River Indian Co (Gila River Telecommunications Inc.) amended its request for license to cover its expired construction permit, adding affidavits witnessing that the station came online at its requested facilities in April 2021, one month after the construction permit was granted.
  • KUWB-LD 30.x (22) Bloomington UT (Nexstar Media Inc.) has requested a reinstatement of its October 2018 construction permit that was built, but never licensed, and has also requested a license to cover the permit. Technical specifications: Ch 22; TL 37° 3' 49" N, 113° 34' 26" W (Webb Hill); Peak ERP 0.2 kW DA HP 1.25° EBT; HAAT 69 m / 225 ft.
Programming Changes
  • KTTU-TV 18.x (19) Tucson (KTTU-TV Inc.) appears to be airing Quest on channel 18.7, even though PSIP shows Confess by Nosey.
  • KTVW-DT 33.x Phoenix (KTVW License Partnership GP) has added channel 33.6, identifying as BT2. At this time, it appears to be infomercials.
  • KUDF-LD 14.x Tucson (LM Media Group Inc.) has replaced blank subchannels 14.2 and 14.7 with "For Lease" slides.
  • KVPA-LD 42.x (34) Phoenix (Bridge News LLC) has moved Binge TV to channel 42.1 following the shutdown of the ShopHQ diginet. The infomercials on channel 42.2 now also appear on channel 42.3. Outdoor America has been removed from channel 42.16, and the channel can no longer be decoded, although it remains in the Program Mapping Table.
  • KDVD-LD 50.x Globe (Globe LPTV LLC) has moved ACN from channel 50.8 to channel 50.5, and now airs a ShopLC slide on channel 50.8.
Network Changes
  • The TBD diginet has rebranded as ROAR, reflecting the diginet's shift in focus to comedy. ROAD can be seen in Arizona on the following channels: KSAZ-TV 10.4 Phoenix, KVCW 33.5 Las Vegas NV, and KAJB 54.3 Calipatria CA.
Construction Permits, Special Temporary Authorizations (STAs) and Tolling Requests Granted
  • KYUM-LD 15.x Yuma (Centro Cristiana Vida Abundante Inc.) has been granted a major modification of its license, allowing a channel change and significant power increase. Technical specifications: Ch 23; TL 32° 41' 14" N, 114° 35' 26" W (Fisher Wireless Services); Peak ERP 15 kW HP; HAAT 37 m / 121 ft (30 m / 98 ft AGL).
  • KSNV 3.x (22) Las Vegas NV (KUPN Licensee LLC) has been granted an Experimental STA to operate an ATSC 3.0 station on channel 33. The experimental station is similar in parameters to the one KSNV operated through April and is requested to be authorized through April 29, 2026. It causes interference to K33MJ-D Pahrump NV that would normally be impermissible, but since KUPN Licensee also owns that station, it agrees to accept the interference. The Experimental STA would also allow the station to reduce power as necessary to conduct testing. Technical specifications: Ch 33; TL 36° 0' 27" N, 115° 0' 27" W (Black Mtn.); ERP 42 kW DA EP 0.8° EBT; HAAT 374 m / 1,227 ft.
  • KVPX-LD 28.x Las Vegas NV (HC2 Station Group Inc.) has been granted a modification to its license to specify ATSC 3.0 operations. Technical specifications: Ch 28; TL 36° 6' 58" N, 115° 11' 12" W (Rio Hotel and Casino); ERP 15 kW EP; HAAT 107 m / 351 ft (133 m / 436 ft AGL).
