- KEJR-LD 43.x (40) Phoenix (Hero LicenseCo) applied for and has been granted a license to cover construction of its digital companion channel to KEJR-LP 43. The station is on the air and simulcasts MTV Tr3s programming on both subchannels, which identify as 40.1 and 43.2 on PSIP. The station now brands as channel 40.1.
Construction permits granted
- KVPA-LP 42 Phoenix (KRCA License LLC) has been granted a construction permit to flash cut to digital operations on UHF channel 42. Although the CP is valid until May 2012, the station has been silent since 6/23/2008, so it will need to broadcast programming in either analog or digital before one year is up, i.e., 6/23/2009, or risk losing its license.
- KAET 8.x Phoenix (Arizona Board of Regents for ASU) has been granted a permit to increase its Effective Radiated Power (ERP) from 25.1 kW to 40 kW.
- K40AD Cottonwood (Meredith Corporation) has been granted a new construction permit to flash cut to digital, replacing the old one, which expired last month.
- K50HU Flagstaff (Meredith Corporation) has been granted a new construction permit to flash cut to digital, replacing the old one, which expired last month.
- K30GL Many Farms (LIN of Colorado LLC) has been granted a twelve-month extension of its construction permit to flash cut to digital.
Transactions
- KNBX-CA 31 Las Vegas NV (Nevada Channel 6 Inc. D-I-P [Equity Media Holdings Corporation]) has applied to transfer its license to Mako Communications. The sale is pending FCC approval.
- KEGS-LP 30 Las Vegas NV (Nevada Channel 3 Inc. D-I-P [Equity Media Holdings Corporation]) has applied to transfer its license to Mako Communications. The sale is pending FCC approval.
Applications filed but not yet approved
- KFPB-LP 30 Globe (Globe LPTV) has applied to flash cut to digital. The application will be applied to the station's displacement construction permit to move to the South Mountain antenna farm and to switch from UHF channel 30 to UHF channel 50.
- K25HU Kingman (Gerald Benevides) has applied for a license to cover its displacement to digital operations on UHF channel 14. Included in the license application is a change in the community of license from Kingman, Arizona to Boulder City, Nevada. The construction permit application had no community of license change.
- KDTP 11.x Holbrook (Community Television Educators [Daystar]) has applied for a license to cover its initial digital facilities on VHF channel 11.
- KTAZ 39.x Phoenix (NBC Telemundo License Co.) has applied for a license to cover its digital facilities on UHF channel 39.
- KNAZ-TV 2.x Flagstaff (Multimedia Holdings Corporation [Gannett]) has applied for an extension of its construction permit for post-transition digital facilities on VHF channel 2. The station is operating pre-transition facilities on UHF channel 22 and wants to continue use of those facilities for post-transition operations following failure of its analog channel 2 antenna that it had originally planned to convert for post-transitional digital operations.
- KKRP-LP 46 Saint George UT (Community Television of Utah License Inc.) has applied to flash cut to digital.
DTV status updates
- KSWT 13.x Yuma (Pappas Arizona License) has been approved to operate post-transition on VHF channel 13 instead of its previously allotted UHF channel 16. Mexican concurrence has been obtained, so the station has 30 days to submit an application for a construction permit. KSWT intends to convert its analog equipment by the June 12 analog shutoff.
Special Temporary Authorizations (STA)
- Per the request of KFPB-LP 30 Globe (Globe LPTV LLC), the FCC has dismissed the station's STA request to operate in digital on UHF channel 50 from Usery Mountain while
- K38IZ-D Phoenix (Spanish Independent Broadcast Network LLC) has been granted STA to continue operating in analog on UHF channel 53 for six months or until it causes interference to co-channel or adjacent channel primary operations.
- KRPO-LP 55 Quartzsite (Hispanic Christian Community Network) has requested and been granted silent STA. The station has never operated, but its official silent date is listed as 4/21.
- KYPO-LP 27 Tacna (Hispanic Christian Community Network) has requested and been granted silent STA. The station has never operated, but its official silent date is listed as 4/21.
- K25DM Phoenix (Mako Communications) has been granted silent STA due to losing its network affiliate status. It went silent 5/1.
- KTVK 3 Phoenix (KTVK Inc. [Belo]) has requested STA to operate in analog at 50% power until analog shutoff due to partial failure of its channel 3 analog transmitter.
- KGNG-LD 47.x (48) Las Vegas NV (King-Kong Broadcasting Inc.) has requested STA to switch to a different antenna and pattern.
Expiring construction permits
- The digital flash cut construction permit for K35FH Flagstaff (Trinity Broadcasting of Arizona) will expire on June 23.
