FYI, Just poking around up here in Flagstaff OTA and found KTVW-CD 6.1 is up in HD. Now for the question or two that I have. Why hasn't any of the other Phoenix Stations with Translators up here in Flagstaff gone to Digital? The other question is KAZT on Ch. 30 up here is running Me TV, is that happening during the weekday down in Phoenix as well. I don't have Cable at this time and don't know how the Local Cable Company here in Flagstaff receives it's signal for that station.

Thanks in advance. :)

ME-TV fired up as 7.3 (OTA) in Phoenix last week.

I apologize for not making my question clear enough. I understand that 7.3 (OTA) is showing MeTV, but what is now showing on 7.1?
Normally the Translator here in Flagstaff is showing 7.1, but is broadcasting 7.3 up here in Flagstaff.

Thanks.

7.1 (which actually comes up as 36.1 on my OTA converter box) shows as KAZT.

Don't get me wrong, I'm actually enjoying watching MeTV, even if it is in 480i (altered from the 720i, as in the transfer from Digital to Analog). It's cool when you get to see some of the shows you haven't seen since you were a kid. ;D

ME-TV's lineup looks a lot better than RTV's and I haven't noticed out-of-sync audio as was common on RTV.

KPNX operates KNAZ as a satellite station (without the .2 subchannel), and KFPH's full-power station is based in Flagstaff, using a LPTV Class A signal in Phoenix.

Other than that, so far, KTVW is the only Phoenix-based station to fire up their digital translator in Flagstaff, but more are on the way - all with construction permits (CPs).

KTVK will move from RF 54 to RF 25
KPHO had a CP to flash cut on RF 50, but let it expire. They have replaced it with another flash cut CP.
KAZT will flash cut on RF 30 (yeah, the full-power station is licensed to Prescott, but this is a Phoenix operation, serving the Valley with an LPTV Class A station, like KFPH)
KAET will flash cut on RF 14
KSAZ will flash cut on both RF 39 and 48
KNXV will move from RF 52 to RF 24
KPAZ had a CP to flash cut on RF 35, but let it expire. They haven't replaced the CP, as KPAZ no longer owns the station.
KUTP will flash cut on RF 28

That accounts for all Phoenix-based stations, except KTAZ, KPPX and KASW, none of which had analog translators in Flagstaff either.

KAZT's full-power signal is not available in most of the Flagstaff area; you have to go to Munds Park before you can receive it. Their 7.1 signal is an independent station.

Expect the first stations to come online next year, perhaps sooner.

That's new; I was there last week Sunday night and it was still 7.1 then.

A Christian station just fired up an LPTV digital signal on ch. 42 as well. Programming from Cornerstone Television Network (CTVN) on 42.1 as of last week.

MeTV is 480i in Phoenix and Prescott/Verde Valley; only the indie stream on 7.1 is 720p.

Looks like it was a minor goof up on KAZT's part. I checked this morning before heading down to Prescott, and it was back to translating 7.1. Although it was fun watching Me TV. I do have to wonder if the translators will carry the Sub Channels of the originating stations though. Anyone have any input on that thought?

Thanks, Jeff

As far as I've seen, digital translators have carried everything that the primary station puts out, including the Mobile/Handheld signals, in the case of KPNX and KASW translators. The KAZT translators in Lake Havasu City and Kingman carry all of the primary station's subchannels. I imagine that the Bullhead City translator does too, but the last time I was up there with my laptop, it wasn't on-air yet.
