This one got by the proofreader:

Applications and Special Temporary Authorizations requested

  • K15CR Lake Havasu City (Fox Television Stations, Inc.) has requested to flash cut to digital. Technical specifications: Ch 15; TL 34-36-9 N, 114-22-13 W (Goat Hill); ERP 1.09 kW directional; HAAT 45 m.

It didn't take long for the changes to begin to roll in:

Programming changes

  • K25DM 25.x Phoenix (Mako Communications LLC) has restored QVC programming to channel 25.2. Meanwhile, channel 25.1 continues to exist without any content.
  • K38IZ-D Phoenix (Spanish Independent Broadcast Network LLC) has restored Tuff TV to channel 38.2, while channel 38.4 is now labeled Zuus Country, following Zuus Media's acquisition of The Country Network (TCN). http://tv.broadwayworld.com/article...cquisition-of-THE-CONTRY-NETWORK-TCN-20130606
  • KPHE-LD 44.x Phoenix (Lotus TV of Phoenix LLC) has restored My Family TV to channel 44.4.
  • KBLR 39.x (40) Paradise NV (Telemundo Las Vegas License LLC) has restored the color bars to channel 39.3, with "Canal SOI" as the PSIP channel description.
  • KVPX-LD 28.x Las Vegas NV (Mako Communications LLC) has restored Sonlife Broadcasting Network (SBN) programming to channel 28.1.
  • KEGS-LD 30.x (24) Las Vegas NV (Mako Communications LLC) has restored Sonlife Broadcasting Network (SBN) programming to channel 30.3.
  • KEEN-CD 17.X Las Vegas NV (Christian Media Associates International, Inc.) is rumored to be adding a channel 17.5 soon.

K16BP Mingus Mtn (KUTP-DT My Network) has flash cut to digital. Interestingly,
they are showing 10.2 as their first position, carrying KSAZ in S.D.
They show KUTP's My Network as 45.1, MOVIES! as 45.2 and Bounce
as 45.3. 45.1 is in H.D 16x9 ratio, the rest are in S.D. K28CW-D Mt Eldon,
Flagstaff is showing all but the 10.2, from it's source, K16BP. K14HC Badger
Mtn Prescott remains analog. They appear to be working at the Mingus
site as the physical and virtual channel labeling is continuing to change.

Actually, K28CW-D has 10.2 as well. K28CW-D was being fed from K16BP, so it was only airing the primary subchannel of KUTP. Now that K16BP has the full digital data stream, so does K28CW-D.

K16BP has the full data stream of KUTP: My Network TV on Program 3 (45.1), KSAZ-TV SD simulcast on Program 4 (10.2), Bounce TV on Program 5 (45.3) and Movies! on Program 6 (45.2).

Fox has applications to take K14HC Prescott and K15CR Lake Havasu City digital, but they cannot be granted without first securing Mexican approval as the stations are within the 200-mile border zone. They also filed applications for K14HG Kingman and K18CB Bullhead City, which are outside the border zone; those have already been granted.

Aaaah - got the Prescott and Williams stations mixed up. KUTP translator K14HC has had a CP for digital operations since August 2009, which has been extended to 9/1/2015. KSAZ translator K43IE Williams has the application that has not yet been granted.

KVOA ch 4.2 still blank. saying "4.2 test channel" :-\I wonder if they are worried ab out putting up cozi tv that it will take ratings away from the crap nbc puts out ???. Tucson sure is the poor stip child when it comes to sub channels. :'(

Think you have it tough? At least Tucson has Antenna TV. Phoenix has a redundant weather channel at 5.2.

{broken record mode off}

Actually, Tucson has it pretty good for subchannels. I just finished a cross-country trip and had an opportunity to sample stations from cities across the US. In one city - I think it was Terre Haute IN - they have three full-power TV stations and only carried the big 4 networks between them. Part of Tucson's problem is that the LPTV stations that often are the source for a lot of the subchannels are used as fill-in stations for the full powers up on Mt. Bigelow so that Marana and Oro Valley can have OTA TV service as well.

K36AE-D on Mingus Mtn has flash cut to digital. It carries KSAZ Fox 10
in HD 16x9 format on 10.1. There does not appear to be any other
subchannels. K42AC also on Mingus Mtn, which usually carries KAET
PBS 8 appears off the air. Perhaps this is due to the storm that passed
through a few hours ago. In it's place, I am presumably receiving
K42IQ-D Flagstaff which broadcasts religious programming. Several other
translators that serve Flagstaff, Cottonwood and Prescott are also off
the air, presumably, due to the storm

K36AE is a translator of KSAZ-DT, so it will only carry what KSAZ does: one 720p 16:9 HD feed, designated channel 10.1, and an encrypted mobile/handheld feed. I'm curious as to whether K39FC and K48GI in Flagstaff have also flash cut, as I believe they are both fed from K36AE.

K42IQ-D carries programming from Cornerstone Television Network. I'm surprised that you're able to receive it from your location, even without the presence of K42AC.

K48GI on Mt Eldon remains analog. K39FC appears to send most of its signal
eastward, so I have not attempted to receive it. One of the issues I've been
having with digital tv is that my converter boxes as well as my flatpanels tend
to have problems when there's an analog and digital signal on the same physical
channel. I wasn't able to receive K42IQ-D until K42AC, closer and on Mingus,
went off the air. K42IQ-D's signal is actually quite good, nearly as good as
K25MG-D (KTVK) on par with K28CW-D (KUTP) and better than K24KS-D (KNXV).
K50HU-D (KPHO) is just too weak to produce a picture at my location.
