Arkansas Hurricane Coverage....

We touched a bit on it in Fort Smith basically from the standpoint of how we could help. Had the Red Cross on... Had some reports from Sandy Sanford in El Dorado on the people taking shelter there...

It is a sad week for all of us that visit New Orleans regularly.... and for those who don't.

It's even more sad for those of us who used to live and work on the Gulf Coast and cannot get in touch with our friends there...I have friends in radio in Mobile, Gulfport and New Orleans...No word on their condition. We are helping the Red Cross and FEMA through our web site with promos on air directing them there. Steal our idea if you have a web site... www.thex953.com Every little bit helps! We are in the process of talking to a HUGE company in Fort Smith about teaming up for some more relief efforts...More details when we firm that up!

Pretty much every station that has local news has covered the story. I've heard stuff and read news stories from stations in Texarkana to Magnolia to Camden to Monticello, Arkadelphia, and Hot Springs. So just about every station is covering the evacuees and the shelter information.

It's not just isolated to stations in South Arkansas along the Louisiana border, they're covering it all over the state.

I'd have to agree with AAA Man. The best thing to do is direct listeners to all the Red Cross and Salvation Army Websites.

Gathering items is great but getting it there is another thing all together. And there are so many needs in so many places.

Leave it to the pros.

God Bless the Gulf..
