Arlene looking toward retirement..

I have a friend rather close to Arlene Violet.
The last few years Arlene s been winding down. She is pretty much retired from Law. My friend tells me the talk show is next. Arlene has a friend AND a relative who are both in poor health. Arlene would like to spend time with them. Also, It was never her life goal to be a talk show host this long.
That may be why WHJJ picked Helen Golver. I think it`s a year from now, we may all be seeing Arlene taking off to smell the roses. And maybe even the Violets!
Alan.

did your friend tell you that arlene is negotiations with hjj again? WPRO apprently approached her about coming there. Now that Kass is leaving they should up the ante. If i were her I would jump ship at hjj and go where there is a respectable newsroom. Hr show isnt that great anyway. I think she also asks the audience for too much money alot re: auctions.

Good for her.
Arlene has done many good works over the years and deserves
some quiet time.
If Arlene does retire or is not resigned for the afternoon
slot I'd like to see them do after DePetro for their 3 -6 show
(assuming the shakeup at RKO affects him) and make Arlene
a pinch hitter. I think Arlene would go for that, it would fit
in to her retirement plans yet still afford her the opportunity
to be heard on occasion.
Arlene's ratings have fallen behind Yorke in a substantive way.
Her wanting to retire may be music to HJJ's ears.
