Allan Handelman's last interview with Jackson Armstrong, about 6 months before Jack's passing, was featured on the syndicated Handelman show earlier this month, and is now posted on our website fmtalk1011.com for anyone who wants to hear or download it (click the "Netcast Central" icon). Also, if anyone has "must hear" audio archives of Jackson Armstrong, we would like to add them to a montage we're putting together--send mp3 formatted files to [email protected]. There are also some youtube clips recently posted on allan's site ifitrocks.com

Nice work guys, Jack was one of a kind. There is a great bit of Jack Armstrong on WKBW in 1972 at Rock Radio Scrapbook. It's from Programmer's Digest.

Jack not being able to find work just isn't right. Neither is Don Russell just working part-time at WBT. Don to me is Charlotte's version of Dan Ingram.

If Jack couldn't find a job and Don's just working part-time well I shouldn't even be allowed near a radio station. These guys are 1,000 times better than I am on my best days.

I remember that bit from PD. Where can I find it on their site?..it's a little hard to navigate.

Here ya go: http://rockradioscrapbook.ca/air1972.html

I grew up listening to WKBW. We lived 2 miles from the transmitter, talk about a big signal! Back in those days KB was like a 24 hour morning show. Casey Peotrowski at the end of the demo wrote some of the "WKRP in Cincinnati" episodes.

I always thought Jackson Armstrong was a perfect fit for WKBW. Most know he was doing voicetracks for KB during their recent oldies format. Jackson did the tracks from his home in Greensboro. What an amazing job, you'd swear he was on the air live in Buffalo!
