The letter is posted below....a couple of thoughts....Arnie is a great host and I still believe that she has many good opportunities to work if she chooses to branch out of NH....I hope she knows that she has several friends via the stream that was available and that she should not look at this as a setback. She's a an excellent host and I hope she will turn up again sooner than later...

the letter....

This is a mail from ARNIE

Message:

Thursday at 3:00 p.m. I sign off from my last radio show at WTPL. For nearly a
half decade I have tried to offer much of New Hampshire the best radio I could.
Actually, I was offering myself the best education I could. For three hours I
had the best policy, legal, journalistic, and professorial minds I could find to
teach me everything they knew. I tried to extract as much as I could from each
and every one. Sometimes I failed and dragged you along for fifteen minutes of
non responsive, bad radio; but most of the time I left the interview drained but
fulfilled and thinking you probably were too.

Every week we went to Canada so Steve Paikin, host of Studio 2 from TVOntairo
could correct my pronunciation of “Eh?” then go on to delve into the inner
workings of Canada in the most winning fashion. You cannot know how much I love
that half hour every Thursday. Then there’s Steffen Schmidt, Iowa’s Dr Politics,
swapping stories about Presidential wannabees; Steve Ambra, who evolved from a
voice talking movies at NHTI to friend; Boston Phoenix’s Tom Meek talking about
the movies that Steve Ambra probably won’t show; and, of course, my homophobic,
curmudgeonly friend, White House Reporter Lester Kinsolving.

And then there’s the guys from CrossBreeze. For years Charlie Arlinghaus, Rich
Killion and Jeff Feingold have come to the studio for one of the best hours of
radio anywhere every Friday. Every time I win an award I know that one of the
reasons is these guys. We bang heads on every issue and on some we disagree
vehemently. Yet every week we walk away with an even greater affection. And yes,
I have to mention super sub. Professor Wayne Lesperance.

There are so many others: former CIA agent, now analyst Mel Goodman, media
critic Matt Felling, investigative reporter Alicia Mundy, Washington Times
political writer Charlie Hurt, CSMonitor health writer Alex Marks, CS Monitor
blogger Tom Regan, Congressman Bernie Sanders, sevendaysvt.com’s columnist Peter
Freyne, The Nation’s David Corn, Nashua Telegraph political guru Kevin Landrigan
and hundreds of others. I can never thank all of them enough. I love them and
most of all, I love you. I will let you know what’s happening. Keep visiting the
Web site and I will post recipes and outrageous attacks on our freedom – just
like now. And please join me on MYTV every night at 9:00. We will have fun.

Ciao…Arnie

Thanks for posting this. I return from the break and find that Mike Webb also signs off and has also issued a letter.

Does Arnie have any archives with Ben Burch, Radio Power, or Live 365? I hope she returns to the air soon, and please keep us informed (as always):
