Arnie Spanier on YSR

Fresh off of his stint in Dallas, Arnie re-emerged back onto national radio as a fill-in for John Harris' overnight show. Even if it's just as a fill-in, this will be his third time being on the network, going back to its days as One On One Sports and Sporting News Radio.

Think Arnie was filling in and hopefully will do more. He's a talented, knowledgeable host who always brings opinions and entertainment to his shows. Not really sure what happened in Dallas, as his show had very high ratings. I think he moved back east to be with his family. Let hope we can all enjoy more of Arnie!

Howdy! How is Life? Yes Mr Arnie Spanier is very good and He knows His stuff and it would be again and good addition at YSR, but it depends on the Executive Board of YSR if They want Mr Spanier back and it is all a question of timing and Philosophies of the Executive Board at YSR, first off all both sides has to have good feelings with each other and arrive on a very good contract for both sides and at what slot and when to broadcast Mr Spanier and a question of Logistics too. We will have to wait and see what will happen on this front in a very near Future. It will make some interesting news and even speculations. Take good care to You All.

fill-in...probably a couple hundred bucks a show. Arnie will work but some of you overestimate his demand.

I might not have agreed with a lot of his opinions, but Arnie Spanier was a really good host. He did a local show here in Los Angeles with Dave Smith on the old XTRA 1150; hearing them go back and forth on topics was a fun listen. If I remember correctly, there were together for maybe less than a year in the afternoon before Smith left the station. I believe not too long after, Spanier left for Atlanta.

The D&A Show was a very good show. I don't think LA has seen a better promotion than Arnie's car wash when the Lakers won the championship. Sunset Blvd was backed up for miles while Arnie washed cards. I caught parts of his show this week while he's filling in Toronto on TSN. He's showing his versatility and I agree, he's a very good host. It really doesn't matter what the subject is, he always makes it entertaining and informative.

I listened to Arnie here in Dallas most of the time he was here.

I agree he is knowledgable, but that accent was tough to listen to.

He ended up on weekends for awhile, and he would absolutely flog some non-sports topics.

I felt sorry for him because he was trying to get people to call in and mix it up, and he sometimes had to fill these three hour shifts with nothing but Arnie.
