Arnie Spanier

This morning on NBC5 Matt Barrie was previewing his Out of Bounds show and he said to tune in tonight (Sunday) and find out why this is the end of the summer of Arnie Spanier. Is The Fan Fail losing another one!?!?

If I recall, there were some articles at the end of last year written about how CBS wanted the radio and TV sides to have more "synergy" having personalities show up on both platforms, cross promotion, etc. At the time the CFO of CBS Radio was promoted to COO of CBS Local Media, overseeing both CBS local TV and radio.

Here, we do see the KTVT weather folks do weather on KRLD.

However, CBS-owned KRLD-FM has a mid-morning show hosted by the NBC O&O KXAS sports anchor. Various KRLD-FM hosts seem to appear on KXAS' Sunday night program and not on KTVT's. Last week, KTVT's sports anchor was on as a guest during Norm's AM drive show on KTCK while the Musers were away (and Babe even mentioned "when I was listening yesterday to the show..." indicating he listens to KTCK and not sibling KRLD-FM).

It's kind of curious there is a total separation between KTVT and KRLD-FM

Not sure where Newy lives but he must spend a lot of time in the car going back and forth from the NBC5 studios in Fort Worth and The CBS Radio buliding on Central in Dallas. However, I guess when you are a sports guy you travel alot.

Having been advised of his greatness by a buddy, I have tried repeatedly to listen to Spanier and I just can't stand the guy's show. He's annoying when he talks sports and just plain unlistenable when he gets into politics or pop-culture. He makes Rush Limbaugh and Al Sharpton sound like rational, serious-minded philosophers by comparison.

Amen to that. What's even worse is that without the callers and fan text, he's a very boring Limbaugh. A very boring talking head.
