Arnie WOO WOO on WCSH tonight

Thanks for the heads-up, Andy. How many of us grew up listening the the "Woo"? Had to listen on a transistor radio under the pillow. Got to meet Arnie and have lunch with him a few years ago. Look forward to seeing him tonight on the tube.

On the Mighty WMEX - 1510AM Brought to you by Advenutre Car Hop. They were rockers. I think Bob Fuller may have worked there too. I guess Arnie still lives in Maine.... Thanks for the heads up.

Nice piece last night. The Woo still looks good and he must be pushing 80...I never knew he put WSME in Sanford on the air. Gave Fred Nutter his first radio gig. I always thought Fred started out as Marconi's assistant.

I believe Bob Fuller was one of several Dan Donovans at 1510, and I'm pretty sure J.J. was Malcolm X. Malcolm. I'll bet they'd have some choice Mac Richmond stories to tell. Might be a good subject for a new thread..

Ahem. Let's amend that to read Melvin X. Melvin. The Floydian Slurp struck me as soon as I'd hit the 'Post' key. That's what I get for going on-line before my morning meds have kicked in....

You're kinda right on both counts. Melvin X Melvin (Mel Miller, who wound up programming WRKO as a talker) was on WMEX (also testified before the US Senate during the plugola scandals back in the day). Malcom X was also in the building, once, as Jerry Williams' guest (they had talk to go with the rock) and just turned the place upside down with protests pro and con. Arnie, Mel, Jerry... they were the reason why 1510 was pulling 50-shares then
