Arpin "Empire" Silent Today...

While driving around and getting errands done this morning and afternoon...I discovered as I was scanning the AM band that Peter Arpin's entire "empire" in this market (990/1320)...are both off the air...(at least as late as about 2:30 this afternoon, anyway).

Just wondering if anyone who has thier "ear to the ground"...so to speak...knows what's goin' on?

I suppose it's kinda like a person going into the health club for the daily workout......and suddenly realizing that his two favorite punching bags were missing from the gym floor. ;D :D ;D

Well I have no motivation to turn on my radio at the moment. Are the stations back on the air yet?
 
Could be one of 2 things:
1. Either the Nautel Ampfet 50 finally shat the bed.
2.National Grid wasn't paid.

Imus went to Number 1 in New York in the 70's by showing up drunk and peeing in phone booths. Being drunk on the radio isn't necessarily a bad thing... LOL. As a matter of fact it would make radio a hell of a lot more radio interesting if EVERYBODY showed up drunk. If I were you I would just stick to being reliable. However drink heavily before your air shift.

Well I just posted a comparison image of one of the guys who got arrested against the Jason Bidonis from WALE. I don't know if it's the same guy or not, so you guys decide. All I can say is that I see a few similarities. Same hair for one. Lost weight since his WALE days though if it is the same guy.

Maybe the paranormal guys can explain that the reason they are silent is a government conspiracy. Actually my money is with Mr. Gardiner.
A. Electric bill got eaten by the owner's dog, and was not aware it was overdue. (Yes, this is the same dog who feasted on checks owed to former employees)
B. 20 year old transmitter (that hasn't been maintained in 15, it's a miracle it still runs which is a testiment to the Nautel corp.) has finally burnt up 1 too many modules. Or is so filthy, (like the men's room floor at the old Lupo's) that it choked itself out. I would choke out too if I had that bad audio and programming going through me!
C. Towers 2 and 5 finally gave it up to gravity.

If WALE ever does return to the airwaves, my question is, Why?

Make that TWO votes for Mr. Gardner's theory!

Right now...I've got this wild picture rolling around my head....of Peter Arpin desperately trolling Craig's List and E-Bay....looking for a used "reasonably priced" (read dirt cheap) transmitter....LOL.

If it's true that Arpin's had any number of offers to sell the place.....then that makes him a stubborn fool for not taking the money and running!

P.S. If It wasn't that long-abused Nautel....then it was probably towers #2 and #5.
