Arrakis help

I have a contract station that took a very bad storm hit earlier this week. ONe of the casulities is an Arrakis 2100SCT console in their production room. Problem being that the manual for this haws long been lost, and of course Arrakis wants $70 for a new one.

The power supply checks ok, and I have found shorted chips on the input board, but I have no audio, no VU indication. I can hear amp noise in the monitors Normal amount). Does anyone have a print on the output board that you could e-mail? If you do or have any ideas put a note up on here and I'll send you an e-mail addy of where I'm at that day.

Can't help with Arrakis but I can tell you what happened when my Fidelipac on air board took a blast. If PS is OK it may be that the bolt came in on an input to the board. In my case it was the audition channel. It blew up the input op amps on the audition channel and that was all. Ordered new chips but could have just moved input op amps from the PGM, MONO, and MONO2 inputs to AUD in the meantime.

Maybe this will help a bit. For me the big thing is to figure out how the lightning got in. Then lots of the rest is straightforward. Good hunting.
 
There was a similar Arrakis here a while ago that had been powered up with one rail missing - took out a heap of op-amps and the rest of the desk was drawing a lot more current than I thought it should.

More replaced chips and finally it came right - but still seems heavy on the current draw.
 
I'm not familiar with a 2100 Arrakis. I have a 12000. Any chance some of the modules are the same? I have a manual on the 12000 and can scan and email anything you could use from that.
 
Use your fingers and feel the op amps for heat. Ones that are hot are bad.

usually lightning takes out the op amps and causes many bad things to happen. I had a similar situation in the past.

You can't use just any replacement chip. ECG chips don't want to work. HAS TO BE THE SAME CHIP AND NOT A CROSS REFERENCE.
Found out the hard way.
