Arron Tyler

So, none of you experts and pundits have anything yet to say about Arron leaving KMX? What gives? You guys are off your game.

LONG OVERDUE! Way to go Tragic, and I mean that! It will be a long time before he's anywhere near a mic again if at all. Whose leading that station now that the punk is out of there?

You'd have to ask Arron. I just know he's got his next gig lined up and it IS on the air. I believe Billy is the new puppet - I mean PD. My bad.

Well I'm glad Arron has another gig I hate to see anybody get out of a Job.

Whoever is the PD or becomes PD may God have mercy on their sole ;D

Seriously I was a PD with Magic trust me its not worth it but that's just my opinion.

"MAGIC BROADCASTING Director Of Programming for PANAMA CITY and DOTHAN CHRIS ALAN tells ALL ACCESS, "We do wish AARON the very best!! He has been a great addition to WKMX for the last 2 years. In the interim, BILLY SEXAUR will be taking on PD responsibilities, and his morning co-host, JULIE, will be holding down the afternoon show. Very soon we will begin a search for a new afternoon talent. Right now, I am completely preoccupied with MAGIC 93.1 (WBBK), where we are officially welcoming TIM SHELTON to the PD chair. His first day is 5/17."

Is this the same Tim Shelton who was APD/MD Mornings at 100.7 Mix-FM in Terre Haute? If so, his experience seems to be in CHR/HOT AC.
Why hire him for MAGIC 93.1 which is currently Urban R & B? Unless the plan is to take MAGIC 93.1 in a different direction or
he will actually be doing Mornings / PD on KMX and they haven't surprised Billy with the news yet.

Hmm Interesting thought Zuzu I wouldn't put it past them.

Just out of pure curiosity does anyone have any ideas on who could possibly be in line for the PD gig?

Don't think you all need to spend to much time on this issue for Magic will make another move within days that will counter this one. This company had a long heritage of success in the Dothan market and just tossed it out the door. Seems to me that the Dir of Pgm needs to be one of the heads on the chopping block however this goes much deeper than just programming. Don and his team should be able to see all of this and make corrections. I do wish them well but seriously don't think much will change. They need to hire a very dedicated broadcast market manager that understands both sales and programming and turn him/her loose. One must also realize that may not be worth squat since they will not spend any money on marketing to help dig themselves out of this rut .. ahhhhhhhhhhhh black hole!

"This company had a long heritage of success in the Dothan market", (quoted just above).....okee dokee.
Though I've never had the pleasure to work with Mr. Tyler, I wish him well. He should wear this dismissal as a badge of honor as he is following in footsteps of many, very talented individuals who walked from the elevator to the door after being in the clouds for the last time. There is still considerable talent in the building. As a matter of fact, (and not meant as a slam toward anyone there now or previously) if I remember correctly, one of the strongest set of ratings for any shift (virtually anywhere) was achieved by the female half of the TVY morning team when she was doing nights at KMX when it was hot ac/chr in the 80's. Additionally, she had and held excellent midday numbers at the same station (hey preem, you still have those books?). The other half of the TVY morning duo also has experienced prolonged success as well but most of you all should be familiar with Jerry's accomplishments but not as many of those new to the market knew of Wendy's track record. I do tend to agree with nuff's assessment not expecting much change, no promotional money and more musical chairs.

Congrats to Mr. Tyler for his stint in Dthn, condolences for the loss of employment and then more congrats for getting to leave Dthn. I hope that you find joy and success and soon can look back on this period of your life with a smile.

Oh yes, congrats to mkt 190 (?) for making the home page of radio-info (again) with this thread. This market must hold some sort of record for "most reads in a small market".

Good luck, Aaron. Congrats, Billy. You'll do well. And you and Julie get better every day. Y'all will be fine. I thought Terry Duffie was buying KMX. KVD said over a month ago the purchase was imminent.

oops lol so sorry thats what I get for writing a post and not proof reading it I ment Soul.

Now if I would have had a mic in front of me it would have been a perfect post ROFL ;D

This morning's edition of RAMP says that he's going to Bloomington, ILL. Way to go, Tyler. Isn't the point to move UP in market size, not DOWN? ??? Winner!

Hey Windsofkain....

I don't have a clue who you are, but your bitterness toward Aaron is starting to lean toward a deep need of some serious therapy. He's gone. You got what you wanted. Let it go. I sat by quietly while you wished his career in this market would tank, but now you're gonna take stabs at the guy's new job?

Get a life. They're cheap and available.

Well Played, Jerry......

There is a lot of long seated vitriol for some fellow members of the radio industry. It's easy to play Internet Tough Guy from the comfort of a computer desk. And I should know about animosity.....Hell, I've held a lot of it over the years, but I've learned that it doesn't add one second of life to your time here on earth.
It takes a very small minded individual to continue on that course. Do your self a favor, don't be a playa' hater unless you have the stones to tell them what you think face to face.

Skip Nelson

/Yeah, I said "Playa Hater".... 8 )

Got to agree with Jerry and Skip, What up Skip...Playa??...in all it does not matter if you go up or down, what matters is being happy with what you do and love doing it. I have worked from mkt 5 ( when Detroit had its lights on) down to mkt 220, I prefer small market radio. small mkt feels more personal. You windso do have a right to hate, maybe there is more that happened with you and Aaron and that's your biz, In the words of J.J from bbk, "you got to let it go playa" "the hate will eat you up".
Good luck Aaron everyone deserves to be happy....
.....John SQ

Mr Broadway - well spoken sir you continue to earn my respect

Skip - I knew you had some ghetto in you " Playa" ;D

All in all I got to agree with John , skip and Jerry bro let it go I worked in 57 and I worked in 220 and course my beloved 190. If Arron's situation is better for him then so be it.

Don't hate congratulate
