Arsenio - New Timeslot In New York

"New Yorkers - you asked for it, you got it," says a promo running on WPIX/11 for "Seinfeld" which is "back at 11 on PIX 11."

Arsenio Hall's show moves from 11 PM to 11:30 PM. But is this the first of many markets to move his revamped late night show to a later time?

So they bump Arsenio, a relatively new show, a half hour late for some old one that has aired probably MILLIONS of times already, let alone it being on CABLE and DVD as well, for those that want to see it so bad???

Sounds ass-backwards to me... but that's just my opinion.

Makes sense to me. Arsenio might not be a good choice to compete with the 11:00 news casts, but he would do better going head-to-head with the network talk shows that start at 11:35. Sacrificing the 11:00 - 11:30 slot to the newscasts, with an old sitcom re-run as filler, and saving a first-run talk show for later seems like a well thought out strategy. It might not work, but you can't fault them for trying it.

Oh come on - I love Seinfeld! Especially Kramer! I used to watch the reruns on KSTW 11 when I lived in Seattle.
