Art Bell a Confirmed Free Agent

Art Bell has posted on Facebook that PremRad confirms his noncompete contract is now ended, and he is a "free-agent". "Stay tuned," he teases.

I would like to see him come back. I loved his show when I ran it overnights on KLIF.

I think he has enough talent to do that. He was a natural fit for C2C. I wonder what will become of the Somewhere In Time shows.

When George Noory took over C2C 10 years ago he said he would do the show for 10 years and then retire. That would have been in 2012, but it's not too late! Of course, that's Bell's previous syndicator but maybe a new contract of some kind would do the trick?

Well that's interesting because I thought Bell retired.

A lot has changed in ten years. He might want to look at the Internet now.

Is it the water of Pahrump or a secret power from an alien planet that keeps Bell so "empowered"

?

I thought he was traded for a late night trucking host and a board op
to be named later...

Maybe it's those "ladies" in those feline houses (it is legal in that county) ::)

I used to see him eating at the Terrible's Casino, but it change hands and the food went down hill or maybe his new wife cooks?

Bell's house is "cat-t-corner" from an sexeducational facility.

I really wish Art would return. George Noory is as boring as listening to paint drying. Seriously, Art could make any outrageous topic seem enthralling and keep you on the edge of your seat. Plus, I kind of liked his weirdness in his personal life. It played into his show & persona perfectly. Art made night time radio engaging by being an incredible storyteller. On the flipside, G Noory sounds like he's just phoning it in (while Art seemed to really believe and live that weird stuff).

I agree, Nothing against George Noory but Art made the guests interesting and knew hoe to have fun with some of the strange callers which were unscreened.

Noory is phoning it in these days. I seldom listen but heard about a half hour a few nights ago. TWICE during that time he asked the guest a question that the guest had already answered moments before!

When Noory took over for Art Bell in 2002 he said he planned to retire in 2012. It's time.

With Art you got the feeling he was in on the joke. Noory brings an unhealthy gullibility to the host chair. And his inability to identify the salient points of his guest's claims lead to some real facepalm follow up questions.

Guest: "...and then the aliens rotated the tires on my 1978 Cadillac."
Noory: "Have you noticed aliens seem attracted American-made cars? I get a lot of calls from people who drive American-made cars."

You got it down, I think it is like some people like to talk about the DMV and guns, it lights up the phones, but does not make for a big audience. The y2k stuff did not help Bell after nothing happened. He sold a lot of emergency stuff and canned wheat.
