All Access reports that Art Laboe is expanding to five nights a week - with Sean Andre moving to middays. This is a pretty big statement by KHHT - and a clear message that they are superserving the Hispanic core. Now will this send some of the slow jamz audience over to KKBT at night?

Sean Andre is a nice guy, so it's really cool that he's staying with KHHT. It looks like having Laboe on nightly should be a good move. His Sunday show is well regarded. We'll see if it translates to weeknights as well. As for the Beat, will it matter? Who knows if that audience will want to sample them considering the wholesale changes they've made recently...
 
With KKBT, nothing matters. It's largely a syndicated UAC with a little of a midday show and a night Slow Jamz show that's local. Plus, their company Radio One is having major problems in all their other markets(lack of revenue, ratings, or personel issues).

The only grace for RO will be if KKBT's costs are cut dramatically(that's why Joyner, Baisden and Williams are on and why Sharpton may be added shortly) and they still maintain the 30 mill plus they billed last year.

Let's keep this in mind
