Art Modell And Cleveland Radio

Do any of you remember that Art Modell was part of Cleveland radio history. Mike Trivisano, Bob France and Bill Wills who are currently on WTAM as well as others in the past on the talk days of 3WE may just owe a little bit of gratitude to Mr. Modell. It was he who was an owner in a broadcast company that made the old WJW 850 a very successful news talk station. Two of its biggest star reporters were retired Fox 8's John O'Day and ABC's Dorothy McIntire. The company wanted to expand its operation. It included the purchase of AM 100 and a format flip to news-talk. After several owner changes, it still remains a news-talk station. And the rest they say is history.

Also, even though Pete Franklin was well on his way to New York to be a host on WFAN when he suffered his heart attack and needed bypass surgery, Art took care of him. Franklin noted this a few times.
