The now legendary Art Riley began his career in Dallas at KLIF (The Mighty 1190) way back in 1968. He worked at various times with Tom Joyner at KKDA, Gary Burbank et al At CKLW (The Big Eight), Patrick J at KSLQ, on the staff of KMOX, St. Louis, KRLD, Dallas, Did mornings twice at WOAI, San Antonio before landing in South Florida in 1990. He became the guy who played the last music song on 560 WQAM before Joey Reynolds took the station to a talk format which would evolve into a sports format. Along the way he worked at WKIS and WIRK playing country and at Oldies 94.3 (WOLL) playing oldies in the morning. I still have one of his old cartoon t-shirts when he worked with Lorna O Connell. He later returned to the new WOLL at 105.3, before landing at WINZ/WIOD for a decade. Of late I have heard him on WKAT where he has worked for about two years. He is also on WGKA, Atlanta, Ga. in the morning. As an admirer of this old dog, I have followed his career through the highs and lows and can say that he is indeed, "a legend in his own mind".
