Article: Goodbye Adelphia...Here comes Comcast!

It's more than a cosmetic change as the nation's largest cable television company has completed its makeover of the former Adelphia franchise in Vermont with its 100,000 cable and Internet customers.

Dan Blakeman, Comcast's vice president for Vermont, said Wednesday customers can expect the same programming and Internet service, and also a number of enhancements.

Blakeman said no rate increase is planned as a result of the Adelphia purchase, which was completed in July.

That's what Comcast said when they took over AT&T, a few months in the channel changes came and then prices went up, thank god for Verizon Fios (cable), they give you the same choices at a cheaper price, radio has Clear channel, cable tv has got Comcast, big company's trying to take over.

Update: Some VT Comcast Internet customers struggling to get online

Some Vermont Comcast broadband customers are having difficulties with their Internet connections.

Most of the problems have occurred in the last few days as Comcast, which recently completed the purchase of the former Adelphia cable system in Vermont, has moved Adelphia customers onto its network.

Comcast spokesman Marc Goodman said the problems were "scattered" through the state.

High-speed to no-speed...It's "ComCastic"

Comcast's switchover of its high-speed clients in Vermont began Nov. 15 in the southern part of the state and then in the north the following day. The Vermont Public Service Department, which oversees cable utilities, reported it was "swamped" with complaints from users who could not get online or do business on their Internet connection.

While hundreds were reported affected, Comcast officials said by last Friday that most were back online.
