Article: Imus producer criticizes Rev. Sharpton

...oh, for God's sake. Imus wasn't canned because of what he said. He was suspended for what he said. He was canned because he was an unbearable ass to work with and CBS and MSNBC simply blamed it on what he (and McGuirk) said to try to shut Sharpton and Jackson up...

CBS and MSNBC simply blamed it on what he (and McGuirk) said

Which gave Mr. Sharpton even more credibility and power that he clearly doesn't deserve.

Both Mr. Sharpton and Mr. Jackson need to be ignored by radio industry decision makers and pundits alike.

They can start by using the title "Mr." instead of "Rev" when referring to them, as neither of them has the bona-fide credentials entitling them to that honorific.

Or, as an alternative, let every talk show host that's ever bought himself an honorary PhD degree by making a contribution to some college start calling himself "Dr."!

Ok, we can believe the guy with the cheese in his beard, that in the past always comes up with these 'theories' that he cannot substantiate~ or the words of McGuirk:

"But McGuirk said he and Imus had engaged in the same locker-room humor for many years, and received pats on the back and raises from their superiors before CBS Radio fired them this time."

The King is dead! Long live the Queen! ::)

My theory is that the loss of some of Imus' key sponsors played a big part in his dismissal. Without all that money Imus brings in via his sponsors, his show is virtually worthless to CBS. The timing was also a good PR move for CBS as well.

Not to mention that all those big-name guests were bailing rather quickly as well. That show died a quick death.
