Article on WBLM's Tommy C

Thank you for posting that link, Old Port. Very nice to see a writer in other media, Ray Routhier, acknowledging that being a radio personality does, in fact, require significant ability.

Being on the air becomes so second nature to many of us, that we ourselves forget that we're using multiple skills simultaneously to put it all together on radio.

Props, as well, to a pro like Tommy C for being a great representative for radio in this article.

Ditto on Tommy C from ME!

I rarely left "Maine's Rock Station...102.9, WBLM" during THE BEATLES FROM A TO Z and THE 500 GREATEST ROCK ALBUMS OF ALL TIME! When listeners are given an interesting programming idea or promotion...we'll stick like glue until the event is over! 8)

After reading that article, Tommy has become my personal hero. I'm not sure if the modern listeners even cares about live jocks. But I know I do.

Also, say what you want about Citadel (and there's plenty to be said) but I know of another station group that keeps their CDs under lock and key, lest some "talent" play "unapproved" material. Nice to see that at least at Citadel Portland, at least when there's reporters lurking about, some creativity still exists in local music radio.

FTA, first sentence--Write it down.

I worked with a guy...a radio veteran, too, not a rookie...who had a 3" x 5" index card that said---- {calls} "I'm (name)" LoL

But, yeah, good article.
