Article: Religion On The Bay Area Radio Dial

In the Gilroy Dispatch, Chuck Flagg has an interesting overview of religious broadcasting on Bay Area airwaves, although he only discusses KGO/810, KEAR/610 and KSFB/1260 while not mentioning KFAX/1100:

People sometimes feel that the mass media are hostile to religion. Perhaps, but three very different opportunities exist for Bay Area listeners to access information or entertainment on the topics of religion and spirituality.

Of course Gilroy is not the Bay Area, but in the Bay Area we are also...uh...blessed with KDIA 1640 and KDYA 1190; IA is brokered religion and YA is gospel music. In the Gilroy area, of course KCBC Riverbank on 770 can be received as well as one of the K-Love repeaters on the lower part of the FM band. They also have the station in Gonzales on 880, whatever they're called, and they might even be able to get KFIA from Sacto on 710 at least during the daytime. I'd say there's no need to worry about Jesus being available.

The article was well-done.

Technically....Gilroy is still part of the Bay Area, since Gilroy is within Santa Clara County. Bay Area is defined by 9 counties. San Francisco, San Mateo, Alameda, Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Contra Costa, Solano, and Napa county. Bay area Metropolitan area streches from Healdsburg to Gilroy and far east as Livermore, Brentwood.
