ARTICLE: SOME SUB CHANNELS GENERATING $1 MILLION ANUALLY

Interesting they cite revenue, not actual profit.

That is exactly what I was thinking when I read that.

You can claim all the revenue in the world, but the bottom line is what pays the bills.

99% of the ads I see on Antenna-TV and This-TV are PI ads. Once in a blue moon I'll see a commercial borrowed from the main channel like this past Saturday when I saw Illusions Dance Club advertised on This-TV. The management of that establishment advertises heavily on This-TV's main channel WCCT-TV 20 usually during Jerry Springer, Steve Wilkos, and Maury Povich.

Antenna-TV has cut-ins during commercial breaks for a 60 second news update. They also run promos for shows on the main channel - Big Bang Theory weekdays at 6PM on FOX 61 and Family Guy Weeknights at 7PM on WCCT-TV 20. (FOX 61's sister station).

Let's be clear, most of that million in revenue is profit. The subchannels have a very low overhead. The stations take in a sat feed and put it on a subchannel. Commercials are run by computer. The sales staff for the main channel sells the spots. No need to hire more people.

Atlanta may not be typical but I'm seeing tons of local adds on Me-TV and Antenna TV. At times
I'm wondering if they are exceeding their allotment of inserts.
