Artie Lange Suspended?

stod said:
Looks like he is done according to his Twitter

I don't see anything. I guess if we don't hear him by Wednesday we can assume they've let him go. Also while I was listening to tonight's show they ran a TMZ report in the first break that mentioned Artie was suspended for urinating in the studio.

Am I missing something with Artie Lange? I found him to be a good bit player on Stern's show. But, now that he's a full on co-host, I don't see the attraction? I'm not trying to be insensitive. I understand he has his demons. But, seems like a lot of trouble for a guy who's just OK as a co host.

Don't get hiring a guy with demons to work late nights as a co-host on a show heard by no-one. Read that this show got a 3-year deal worth a combined 3-mil? How many stations is this fiasco on? Just listened to a pod-case and it is dreadful radio. The biggest question(and I have lots of them) Does this inevitable disaster make it beyond 1 year? Who hired these clowns? That's about 4 questions so far. Anyone have answers? Oops, that's 5 questions.

Because God forbid somebody should do something different out there. Sure Artie is a disaster, but who knows maybe it would be magic. ESPN is just doing sportscenter something as they do all night long. FSR now has rob dibble, which is better than Bruno making the same joke every 4 seconds and talking to Miss Robin about nonsense (and I loved Bruno in mornings), and whatever Yahoo is doing at night.

Nick and Artie was a stab to be different. It may not work out, but at least someone tried something.

No one is debating the merits of trying something different. That's commendable. The discussion was more about not re-hiring or hiring guys who are personal train wrecks. I mean the guy allegedly urinated on the floor of the studio. Who the heck survives that?

He was back after his two-day suspension, so apparently he can survive it.

He's not going to take another radio job even if it were offered to him, why would he? He's signed to a contract that will pay him to sit at home or at the very least do some stand up dates here and there while collecting a big fat, radio paycheck.
Next, why the hell did anyone think he was stable enough to give him a longterm deal? and yes anything more than 1 year is a long term deal.
Just foolishness & idiocy, when will management learn that it's just not worth taking chance after chance on a guy like that?

Artie Lange: the "T.O." of radio! :D

Bruno - to my knowledge - has never been arrested, tried to kill himself, urinated on a studio floor or was guilty of anything more than making a stupid tweet which led to his dismissal from DirectV and Fox Sports. The same geniuses then hired Artie Lange to replace him? Sounds like the management people need to be drug tested.

Actually I was referencing is exits from ESPN Radio (Bruno/Golic)...then, Fox Sports Radio (the first time when he was the star of the place)...then, Sporting News Radio (where he was the star).... then nights on FSR and an exit. And now local in Philly two hours a day.

Sound like T.O. once playing in the Super Bowl and now trying out for the Seahawks. Hmmmmm. Sad.

Ah, I knew the Lifeguard would chime in at some point once Bruno was mentioned in this thread... :D
