Artistic Broadcasting

Seems the Artistic folks are looking for people in a number of their markets. Market Manager and General Sales Manger ads are all over the place. Think they will need more than a little help to make the grade.

Their market manager hire in South Bend last Summer lasted only five weeks! That's right, FIVE F'N WEEKS!!!

FARTistic is where radio careers go to die.

Maybe Artristic is using the Cumulus play book! How can somebody screw up that bad in five weeks? There was a black cloud over that hire from the get go. Think Arthur needs to rethink his hiring practices if there is that kind of turn over. Like your nickname of Fartastic. LOL

From posts in the past the guy was stupid to take the job. There is no former employee or anyone associated with Artistic with anything good to say.

Sucking life out of radio and our employees...Artietistic

What's more, the guy that took the job was a fellow Italiano. You would think they would hang together. Instead, the Angottis killed off professionally one of their own peeps! They're The Sopranos of Indiana radio.

"They're The Sopranos of Indiana radio."

At least they didn't cut off his head and put it in a bowling bag.

I used to LOVE Tony, then, they focused on what a GREAT SCUMBAG CREEP he "is" and by the time he was in the last scene with his family in the restaurant, I was HOPING he'd get killed.

I have been associated with Art, & anyone with a bit of common sense would respect him as a professional radio business man. Apparently you people do not realize if it wasn't for the marketing/sales managers, which by the way damn near every radio station in every market is looking for, those of you who are still in broadcasting would not be receiving a paycheck. The real money in radio is not some flunky jock on the air making fartistic/disgusting jokes, but the marketing/sales managers are the ones that bring in the money to keep each station viable. As for Hoosier45guy, & nuffsaid it seems your infantile humor belongs on a grade school playground. God bless America along with freedom of speech, so we can diss on ones race, color, or creed! Go play in the sand box children where you really belong! Best of luck to you Art, & hope you find some worthy employees!!!

Spoken like a true no talent suit Terrestrial. Angotti has had more worthy employees on air through the years than you and I have fingers and toes. Artistic is a whirlwind of indecision and paranoia and one of the many big things wrong with what was once a great/fun business to be involved in.

The stories surrounding that company are legendary and yet pathetic at the same time. I have been there and no amount of money could ever make me go back. Speaking of that, I along with 2 other of my former co-workers were made offers (usually late at night at home) to come back. We all said no because we knew it was not worth it.

Arthur, stop posting here, shouldn't you be trying to hire someone?

So if I'm reading the post correctly, you sucked as a jock and wound up in sales.

Absurd! There is nothing professional about him or his incompetent son. They have no clue on how to grow or evolve their stations. Look at South Bend...lose Notre Dame (in the home market), and miss every chance to make something out of of the 102.3 frequency. The stream is a 'piddle' and short-sighted--just like the company. While Federated and Schurz have stable leadership--left alone to be broadcasters---Artistic has now blown through 5 or 6 GM's in the last three years and countless Sales Managers and even more countless sales reps. If not for the heritage of U93, this cluster would be in negative cash flow. They are available on the market and hopefully, like the debacle that was Ft. Wayne, someone will buy them when the credit market loosens up. Look at Artie's Facebook profile picture--that is what he feels when thinking about trying to compete with real broadcasters.

Wow I've been called a no talent suit, Arthur, & a jock that sucked which resulted in a sales position! Surely children you jest with these extreme accusations! So some of you were offered your jobs back yet say you refused because it was not worth it. I bet you refused because jocks at all stations do not make enough money to support a household. Did I also read that Art has his stations up for sale? I doubt if Art would sell his cluster during a time in which the value of a broadcast station is depressed. I see you say Art is in a state of paranoia. Hello what station isn't during the great "recession" since most are paranoid/concerned about keeping up overhead! RadioRob2.0 I far from sucked as a jock when my ratings were actually very high! You are off on the sales position as well. I was a very observant radio personality on the ins, & outs of how a radio station truly thrives which is the sales/marketing depts. BTW RadioRob2.0 unlike you, I was more in tune with operations vs. my ego because my G.P.A. was a 4.0! Did it occur to any of you that the real reason the dude was fired after 5 weeks, may have been because he was unable to make any sales during the recession? That is standard protocal if one can't make a sale in over a month they are fired! Nevertheless, I am grateful to Art for the experience, & great times!!! Also, very amused by the many titles you kids have given me, & all of you were way off base! Art still hoping you find worthy sales/marketing managers!!!

Did you hear that Federated let go of a bunch of people and are going to change their programming on three of their South Bend Stations? They told the employees they fired that they would let them out of their non-compete but have since rescinded that part of the termination. Anybody know what the final programming will be for the stations?

Hate to say this, but i would rather work at Barftistic than Federated right now. They just dumped a bunch of employees and said they would let them out of their non-competes but then went back on their word. I wonder what those people will do.

The gentleman mentioned previously was the South Bend MARKET MANAGER for Angotti, not a sales rep. How can anybody be expected to turn around that mess in just five weeks? Explain that to us Mr. Straight A Smarty!

Gosh darn, you got a 4.0. You are smartest man on the internets! I bet you don't need an exhaust fan in your bathroom.

I am overwhelmed by the mental stimulation on this thread! I shall not waste my time on those of you who can't even form a grammatically correct sentence!!! However, RadioRob "2.0" for brains, all I have left to say is the following quote from Thomas Paine: "To argue with a man who has renounced his reason is like giving medicine to the dead." You people remind me of children throwing sand in each others faces. I sincerely wish you all the best of luck in your future endeavors upon your maturity!
