Trying to figure how his star has risen. Seems like a nice guy; has a nice "set of pipes," but quite frankly he is unlistenable.

Way, way, way, too monotone and for a guy who played in the NFL doesn't seem to know the NFL very much.

Today's postgame Bengals show with Charles Fisher was an abject embarrassement. Fisher can't speak and at one point Artell said the Bengals kicked a "three-point field goal." Didn't know there was any other thing.

Turned it off after about 15 minutes and only stayed that long for the train wreck factor.

Artrell is even worse on TV. He was so bad and monotone on the UC-Miami game that it was completely unwatchable.
 
I was listening too and you're right they are unlistenable. 1160 has a much better post game show with Wildman and Eric Thomas.
 
The morning show is ok provided he does not have to debate with anyone, he gets flustered easily and is just really bad at having a discussion with someone with a different viewpoint. Kind of important for a radio host. I thought he did well on the UC game, the Redhawks made it hard for anyone to be able to make the game interesting for three hours. I know what you mean on the show with Fisher, a caller was referring to the end of the Bengals game, going for two, etc. and it was incoherent - both the caller and Artrell's response. I turned it off not knowing either persons point.

Dennis Walker's chronically obstructed nasal passages are more listenable that Artrell Hawkins?
 
Send him some Breathe-Right strips! Then put him up on a billboard again until Mike Brown sells out to someone who actually wants winning football not just a winning balance sheet!
