So, I'm driving home from a sales call listening to 102.5 today around five pm, when the girl on the Cowhead Show (which is barely listenable radio) says something like "MJ how does it feel to return to mediocrity at number 2 in the morning?" I start yelling at the radio, "hey Bimbo, how's you paycheck-to-paycheck $10 per hour radio gig?" I'm a CBS salesperson and got a good laugh. If I'm not mistaken, when Sponge was at Clear Channel he was number one and Mj was number two numerous times. I'm guessing MJ made more money and we know that FLZ squashed 98Rocks' morning billing always. So who really is the winner?
Our sales manager showed me today that's Bubba's ratings are trending DOWN in the last month. The first month was a combo of Bubba's big return and a silly oversampling of men. He will not sustain those numbers. The show has lost it's punch, there's no edge and the content is all bleeped and lame. I'm a 35 year-old male, where's the Bubba T&A?? LAME-O RADIO. I want Lesbos.
I was listening to Bubba for most of January/Feb for sales leads and now wonder what kind of ratings Bubba would have gotten if he hadn't slandered Shnitt and his wife for the first 90 days? MJ/Shnitt should get some of the credit since Bubba's whole act was predicated on attacking Shnitt. Without a target, Blubba has nothing to say. Also, listen to the crap quality of the advertisers. Sounds like 'cash in advance' low-end business to me. They might have ratings, but they can't sell it. Again, who really wins?
