Asheville, NC gets a new CHR

Yes! This ia great news. Even though Greenville's excellent B-93.7 covers much of the market, the signal for WFBC is spotty in some parts of downtown Asheville.

The funny thing is that Star 104.3 has been part of the CHR/Pop panel on Mediabase for a couple of years now so it's about time this station actually started sounding like a real CHR.

Asheville has 3 chrs now... I miss 99.9 Kiss FM but its been gone since 1994,, no need to bring it up 17 years later. But With Star 104.3,,, they also got as previously mentioned B-93.7,, and also Electric 94.9 from ther tri cities,, but as chrles mentioned about B,, both them and Electric suffer Multipath static do to the terrain.

I for one welcome the change, even though I think they did a soft launch. They are teasing about an announcement at 6:00 a.m. tomorrow, so maybe then is when they do the official launch.

One thing that they really need to do ASAP, IMHO, is to go through the music logs and dump the remaining Hot AC gold titles that may be still in the system. I've heard Edwin McCain's "These's Are The Moments" about 8:15 P.M. this evening, which is fine if you are a Hot AC, not so if your CHR.
