Asleep At The Wheel @ South 107!

Here is what I heard starting at about 5:45 AM:

The traffic bed - in its entirety - for two minutes
Followed by the traffic update - with no music behind it!
Then a few minutes of spots...
Then the weather bed - with no interruption - for two minutes
Immediately followed by a dry weather update!
At which point Moby should have been joined in progress, but it went straight to a legal ID, eight minutes earlier than usual, and then...
The South 107 TOH news bed... for two minutes with no news over it because...
It immediately followed the news bed, as dry as the traffic and weather before it...
Then we are treated to the traffic bed again - followed by a dry traffic update...
After another stopset, it's another go-round for the weather bed - now in heavy rotation at this point... Then another dry weather read...
It's 6:03 at this point. After Moby did a pre-recorded weather check, I was wondering what I would hear next... turns out, it's another spin for the traffic bed and the B-side dry traffic update! Then another round of spots...

Ah, automation at work. And Moby's live show is even going to start on time at this point... At 6:07, I'm hearing the weather bed once again...

At least somebody is actually listening to South 107. ;D

Yeah, What is this stations future, are they going to move to the ATL market, change formats. If I were them I would do smooth jazz, or a peach format???? ???

Somebody forgot to schedule something to trigger something. Yes I am the engineer.

They are increasing their power to 100k, contingent on a move by WJZZ 107.5 to a new tower in Norcross (Buford Highway near the DeKalb/Gwinnett county line) from their current tower near Perimeter Mall. This would increase their metro coverage somewhat, but especially across the top end and intown. Eastern coverage would remain spotty to nonexistent, but the station would become much more serviceable in current fringy areas like Gwinnett.

My guess is that the station will eventually be sold after the upgrade and will flip. The country format could move to sister WSRM, which is also upgrading, or WQTU--but wouldn't have the coverage of the existing WTSH even with the upgrade. Both WTSH and WSRM are already being LMAed to a MBO group (Rome Radio Partners) that is buying some of Southern's other Rome cluster stations, including WQTU. There's another thread that details what's going on with Southern's Rome cluster.

Pretending to be an Atlanta station like WVFJ has for years?
