Astros Radio Network

Well I didn't quite mean Houston in particular, the Dallas AMs are maintained decently enough.

I suppose the toxic dumping could have eaten up the ground system which likely hasn't been repaired in a long time from the sounds of it.

IHurt doesn't have the rights as to who carries the network..the Astros control that..same thing as the Dallas Cowboys Radio Network....CBS 105.3 in Dallas is the flagship but they have NO control over affiliates...DCRN and it's subsidiary, Blue Star Network does

Well, it's a shame, C-Dub. First, you couldn't get the "W" from Kansas, and now you'll be broadcasting a lot less "W"s this season, covering Jerry World U.S.A., than if you had become an affiliate of your next door neighbor's team. You really are a west of the Mississippi kind of guy! Maybe I should start calling you "C-Kay", LOL.

just ribbin' you ol' Continuous One... Good luck with the 'pokes, and...

Go Texans!

Since KLVI dropped the Astros, KOGT in Orange picked up the network...so KLVI can't carry them...so sorry...only one signal per market.

I wouldn't necessarily say that KOGT is in Beaumont's market. Have you seen their coverage area?

Also, KLVI could become an affiliate of the Astros Radio Network, but KIKR is currently serving as the 'Stros affiliate.

KOGT is in the Beaumont MSA, which is Jefferson, Hardin and Orange counties. So as far as affiliations, that would be the affiliate in the metro.

KOGT is non-existent in Beaumont during nighttime operation, so it's a good thing Astros fans in Beaumont have KIKR.

Heh, KIKR isn't much better. Why Cumulus holds on to it and the peewonky Nederland signal continues to baffle me. The right sucker just hasn't come along to put an offer in on it, I guess.

The Astros Radio Network needs KLVI now more than an ever. Who do I need to call to make this happen?

Really? The footprint I hear coming from KCOH is a far cry from what I used to hear from Country Fresh K-NUZ, Robert. The signal struggles outside of the Loop, and it certainly wasn't that way in 1230's heyday.

:cool:Purple: Things have changed with AM reception in Big cities and developed areas, The noise floor has gone through the roof, which interfere with and degrades the signal, especially AM since most noise is AM in nature, with all the electronic light controls, dimmer systems, smart chargers, any thing with a pulse type control
along with many other electrical / electronic devices. along with super voltage transmission lines and power distribution systems, even your weed eater charger can cause noise. its like having another station on what used to be a clear channel, HD AM gets around the noise but has other problems. The FCC has started a noise identification and reduction program ? which seeks to reduce noise which effects all radio communication, even Wi Fi is effected by noise floor, smart meters and frequency hopping spread spectrum devices effect higher frequencies with their own noise floor ? which reduces range. and in the case of K-NUZ all the tall buildings, construction and industry in the area have effected their once almost ? OMINI direction pattern, now Toxic waste may have effected their ground system which may have a bearing on signal and true ? OMINI pattern, I trust others on this board with AM antenna system, and Am proof of performance testing experience, will fill in the gaps in my article, and knowledge with out "personal attacks" .
