AT 40 the 80s on WOGL

Was listening to OGL this past Saturday and they were running an AT 40 Countdown from 1980.

Have they dropped the 70s version? Some of those early 70s years may be getting to be too old.

Although later 80s countdowns with the beginning influences of Hip Hop would probably not play well either.

I know the AT-40 The 80's from this past week was from 1980. So, my guess is that they're airing it now on 'OGL. I'm not sure if they still run the 70's edition.

And later 80s compatibility won't be a problem because the 80s AT40s don't include late 80s, because Casey stopped hosting them ... Shadow Stevens took over, and those shows aren't included in the replays. I can't recall exactly what year the 80s AT40 replays stop ... I want to say it's either 86 or 87.

I noticed in the summer that WOGL started airing the 80's AT40. But then one weekend they did 1970, and I heard a 1976 a few weeks back. So I don't see any pattern here, the majority are 80's countdowns now, and it seems like most are early 80's.

Sister station WODS in Boston now airs "Back to the 80's" on Friday nights...a show that used to air on sister Hot AC "Mix 104.1".

Just the station evolving to keep up with the times...I guess they will air both 70's & 80's AT 40 shows now.

So, WOGL is now playing music that used to be played on WCAU-FM? I was pissed that day in 1987 in my freshman year of college and WCAU-FM wasn't there when I turned on 98.1. I got over it. I turned on WMMR and Eagle 106.

Yes, the march of time has brought back some of the old Hot Hits tunes.

They also recently started using some jingles from JAM's "Outstanding" package, which was previously used on WCAU-FM around 1982-83.
