AT&T 3g coverage

I was curious if any of you know whats going on with getting 3g coverage around northern new england and when I might come. I switched from verizon to AT&T for two reasons: 1, no cell service in Coles corner VT and weston VT where AT&T has coverage in both these places and also because of the Iphone. I used to have verizon and I will tell you I miss it a lot!
I hate the edge (GSM) network with a passion. I used to listen to internet radio top to bottom on I-91 in Vermont with only 2 dead spots one near exit 14 and one at exit 6&7. even when I only got the 1x with verizon its was ok. with edge and no 3g and many dead spots on I-91 forget about it! 5k when one edge is rediculous. can anyone shed some light on why AT&T is so horrible on getting the network upgraded to 3g and why edge is a lot slower than the 1x?

can't speak for vt, but i know in maine verizon has much better 3g and overall coverage. Big mistake moving to att, should have just got a droid and stayed with the better coverage. I spend summers in bar harbor, know lots of people that have i phones, they always have issues unless they are on a wifi network.

Jamie, run back to Verizon while you still can. AT&T is a horrible carrier ESP. In rural areas. They are ok in VT because they bought the old Unicel in VT. But cross into NH or ME and they are terrible. Check out Consumer Reports. They came in LAST! Sites like Howardforums.com are good to check out as well. While Verizon has most the country blanketed in 3G, at&t was the last out of the stable building it out and has very little 3G coverage. They don't even have much available spectrum for 4g which Verizon does. Verizon has a boatload of powerful 700mhz spectrum for that and are already available in larger cities. If you didn't travel rural areas you'd be fine with at&t but since I know you do I'd seriously go back to verizon if your still in your 30 day trial.

I would Jump back on Verizon but I am under a 2 year contract :( I should have just gotten a GSM pre-paid phone and stayed with Verizon. if At&T 3g comes in ST.J it will be worth it because all I have is dial-up internet/edge (GSM) we did have wild blue but they oversold their bandwidth and it was terrible. I am yet to find anything faster than 28K in Coles Corner VT.
I am graduating soon from WCSU Danbury CT and hope to get a radio gig in the NEK because I love mountain biking and Jay Peak. As of right now I am only in CT Fri-Sat otherwise working as a ski instructor up in VT.
my weekly radio show continues at wxci.org Fridays. I was asked by some of the 4 year students at LSC to help out WWLR but was turned down. I do miss that place and the audience I had.
