I don't know what's going on but this is yet ANOTHER year where what's supposed to be our great Gulf coast tropo season is another dud so far here in Tampa.
So since we've been having the kind of weather pattern that's associated with tropo, I thought I would check out the FM tonight because the map showed a lot of paths over Florida.
Nothing much to brag about but at least I got a station I've never heard.
On 94.5 which is our local low power classic rock station 'Thunder' W233AV, I got strong signal from a rock station that easily lit up the RDS on my radio - 'Arrow 94.5' from Naples.
"Thunder 94.5' was completely gone regardless of how I moved the antenna around. That's a first since they went on the air last year.
Then I checked the frequency again a couple hours later and there was no trace of Arrow 94.5 or the local Thunder and it was a strong signal lighting up the RDS - 'Star 94.5' Daytona Beach/Orlando.
Certainly not the first time I've heard them but it was interesting how two different stations from two different directions both wiped out the local low power station in a matter of only a couple hours.
