AT40: 70's on 7

So, how about Magic Matt ("in for the vacationing Casey Kasem") faking an AT40 countdown from April 1970 yesterday? Laaame!

Was the regularly scheduled countdown one that might have [gasp] broken format?

I believe AT40 didn't start until the second half of 1970, so there was no legit AT40 to be aired. Given that Sirius XM hardly plays any songs from 1970 at all (Assclown '70s PD Human Numan prefers to emphasize the later years of the decade, and Lou Simon at '60s on 6 won't expand beyond 1969 despite the fact that he's also the PD of '50s on 5, which plays music from 1960 to 1963), the improvised AT40 on 7 this weekend was a real treat.

^ That is correct. The first AT40 w/ Casey was in July 1970 or so, and the first #1 was "Mama Told Me (Not to Come)" by Three Dog Night.

Yep, AT40's birthday is always celebrated on the 4th of July, so from January 1970 - July 3, 1970 there was no AT40, so MaggotMatt did his fake AT 40 show - as long as that isn't a regular thing, I'm okay with it - at least we heard songs we never hear othewise.
