Athens, OH AM band scan

I was in Athens, Ohio over the Thanksgiving holiday, and I got the opportunity to do an AM bandscan on Thanksgiving Day around noon.

There was snow on the ground, so there was an opportunity to hear stations that you wouldn't normally get. I heard a few. WHAS from Louisville came in. WJLS Beckley, WV also came through on 560.

Here it is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yOdee7VG6E

Columbus stations sounded decent, more so than I thought they would. That ground conductivity to the southeast really chews up good signals.
I didn't hear WHAS at all, nor anything on 560 (unless I thought that was WKRC in 550; couldn't see the display very well). Surprised not to hear WKNR, but it might not be able to make it that far. It's a blaster here in Columbus.
Did like how 1230 was a battleground, presumably between Ironton and Columbus. I thought I might have heard Zanesville on 1240, but that'd be a good catch even with the snow.

Thanks for the video band scan! Nice.

You tuned fast some frequencies and I heard faint signals on 670 and 720.

Chicago?

I've heard both in the general vacinity of Athens daytime (mid-morning) on a good car radio. Not exactly easy, but definitely doable.

Probably. Wasn't paying close attention, but it was a very faint signal. I thought I heard WGN coming thru a few minutes before that. Also 630 from St. Mary's, WV was mixing with probably Lexington. WHAS was there if you turned it in a particular position.
