Atlanta Braves TV Network

The Braves are going to have 45 games available to broadcast stations in their territory. Has anybody heard if any stations will be picking up the games in Nashville?

Not sure about TV but when I was at WGFX I talked with the Braves about picking up some of the games but it didn't get far. They along with any of the other teams want at least 100 games broadcast. We just didn't have the room to do it and thats where it sat. It would have been great to pick up some Braves,Cubs,Cards games but we just couldn't fit them all in...OH and no George didn't push the Braves on me! hahah I even talked with the Sounds about doing a game of the week but that didn't get far...
Would baseball on the radio be better than Fox Sports Radio? Some say yes and others say no....I will say that's it was hard to fit all of Vandy football and basketball, Preds, PRN, Belmont, Preds player shows into the week! Oh and the Vandy call in show on Monday ....Whew no on could understand that it was in the contract! I'm sure Larry and Brad have it all fixed now....MUCH smarter than me. Just ask them!

Baseball on the radio would definitely be better than Fox Sports Radio. If any FM sports station ever needed a companion AM to handle conflicts and spillover, it's 'GFX. You did a good job during your tenure, be proud of it.

I really like FOX Sports Radio. I listen to every day.

I like Ben Maller, John Fricke, and Czaban the best.

There used to be a ton of negative stuff on the sports forum here about FSR. I don't get it.

Well it's like this. Two schools of thought on FSR. When I was PD the OM said that we needed to just worry about M-F 6a-6p. Fox was good to fill along with the "paid" hours. Now a new OM is in place and he doesn't like Fox Sports Radio and is filling with other shows. I wasn't able to do anything outside of M-F 6a-6p and was told we didn't have the money to do it. We had a lot of young talent that would have sounded better if given the chance. I don't listen much now but will say some of the new stuff sounds good.

Well, I seem to like SNR radio better, but I will say that after ESPN did that campaign job to try and get Michigan into that BCS title game against OHIO State, I mean about 1 full month of ESPN's constant campaigning to get Michigan into that 2006 BCS title game, Dan Patrick actually had the gall to call CBS a "SEC Homer". He was critical of Gary Danielson, who I think played football at Purdue, caling Danielson a SEC Homer. Anyway, when I heard that I knew i just hated ESPN. LOL That took a lot of gall to accuse CBS of SEC Homerism after that obvious pro Michigan campaign that the ESPN Network went on.

I like SNR (Sporting news). The only one who irritates me on there is Artie Spangler, but I can live with his show I guess.

Fox news is ok. I am not crazy about JT Brick or whetever he calls himself, but it is somewhat similar to the other Fox venues. They have that Fox touch and you can tell it.

So it looks like if you live in Middle Tennessee and have Comcast Cable you will get about 30 Braves games this year.
