Atlanta finally gets a true CHR

I'm listening this morning via iHeart Radio and it's nice to hear music instead of talk during the 6AM hour from an east coast station. Apparently this will be short lived as Elvis Duran will be on next week starting Tuesday. Interesting that CC has no plans (for now) for a local morning show in a big market like Atlanta.

On iHeart Radio, Q100 and Power 96.1 are both featured. Funny that the competitors are both available on the same platform.

This move must agree with all of the posters that have been complaining about Q100, and pointing out that the Rock format is dying in the south east.

Elvis was on Power's predecessor, CC's rhythmic-leaning CHR Wild 96.7/105.7. Makes sense to carry him over to the new station assuming that he was doing well on the old one.

CC runs Elvis in a number of big markets, including Philadelphia and Miami.

I wonder how removing Elvis Duran from WiLD will affect WiLD. It was known to always be their weakest time slot. Would like to see how they do on Power 96.1! More music mornings couldn't hurt WiLD any more than the morning show was. But maybe on a clear full power signal, it'll be a different story.
