Atlanta News Ratings

Wow. WSB-TV is a 1600-lb. gorilla. It looks like they are gaining share.

Of course...they can just cut-and-paste the same release every month. Nothing is going to change for the forseeable future.

Wow! WSB was not #1 at 3pm-4pm and 7:30pm-8pm. So they aren't perfect after all.

But seriously, I wonder who was #1 during those times.

I would guess with Judge Judy at 3pm, WAGA would be tops.

At 7:30pm I have no idea. I would have thought ET was #1, so I'll be surprised to see which clone of theirs beats them.

Hmm, I'd say 11 ALIVE/WXIA maybe #1 at 3pm with Dr.Oz??? At 7:30pm, maybe Jeporady gets the #1 spot on MyATL /WATL? I've also noticed CBS Atlanta/WGCL commericials stating they're #1 for 11:00pm news.

The Atlanta Daybook link focused on September Sweeps, which ran from August 27 - September 23.

If WXIA was #1 at 3pm it would have had more to do with Rachel Ray since Dr. Oz's show didn't start until September 14.

Y&R didn't move to 3pm until September 21, so it couldn't have had an impact at 3pm. In the thread about the programming changes at WGCL there is a link that shows ratings from earlier this year, and General Hospital had twice the audience of Guiding Light at 3pm locally.

Since Judge Judy is in the top five in national syndication, I'm still thinking WAGA was #1 with her and Judge Joe Brown.

At 7:30pm I forgot about Jeopardy. That would be a big win for WATL. Although I wouldn't be surprised if TMZ was #1.

The commericals I've seen WGCL run for being #1 at 11pm are usually for one night only.

i thought moving 'young and the restless' to 3 pm was a smart move for WGCL. its the number 1 daytime network soap these days, and it provides a strong lead-in to the 4 pm news.

WSB TV is number 1, but (and i may be mistaken here) i've always heard their demos skew a bit older, and that FOX 5 is strong with the younger demos. 11 alive has the viewership of a small town and i think WGCL was on the rise for a while
