Oh yeah. Expect some changes this year. There are stations that have been sold, companies that have merged, and pending transactions. It will be an interesting year to say the least. I'm not sure when we will start seeing any changes, but I would speculate sometime before the Spring Book or possibly thereafter.

When has there NOT been changes in ATL radio.
Look for a wheedling down of the oh so many Spanish stations. Now that it has been discovered that you can make money with them,. . . the “crush ‘em or be crushed,” competitive attitude will come into play.
Small players, who thought they were unnoticed, will be noticed.
Look for one BRAVE talk station to try to LOCALIZE content, the land-grab to make any and everyone on the national scene a conservative nationally syndicated host has passed the “listener power curve.”
Look for another rock station to realize that, “dog it as much as you want, call it geezer music or dino rock but. . .” classic rock is what millions of boomers grew up with and want to hear. Also, There is simply not enough GOOD new music to go around. If EVERY rock station tries to play the same thing, look for a DJ PRICE WAR. And giveaway/contest nightmare.
Oops too expensive, stations will opt to play what people want and keep the cheap-azzed DJ’s.
Also look for a rebellion of listeners at “V” and Hot. As black listeners can’t help but to keep getting older, more and more are starting to see the destructive effect of much of what is being aired, and are turning to classic soul. Pay no attention to the trends, a rebellion is coming in black radio.

Maybe 680 will make some changes in the 10-3 timeslots that will make it competitive with 790. If not,then they may flip formats and send the Thrashers to WSB. 680 can't get much worse than it is now.
