Atlanta Radio 2015 & 2020

Now that this decade is almost over, let’s get out our crystal balls and predict what Atlanta radio will look like in 2015 or 2020. Hopefully we will all be here in 2015 and 2020 to have a few laughs at our predictions.
I will start: JAN 1 2015
#1 Neil finally get’s the Z 93 programmer chair only to have the station moved to 92.1 @ 3KW, part of a four way frequency swap to bring in another rim shot that we can’t pick up north of 285.
#2 After several bankruptcies and mergers there are only two clusters with all of the class C FM’s.
#3 We still can’t understand WSB’s traffic reports now with 12 reporters trying to get their part in during a 20 second break.
#4 One of the underperforming FM’s goes talk.

Jan 1 2020
Christopher Rude celebrates 10 years of being cancer free.

I think you will find an Atlanta FM flipping to talk long before 2020. Most likely this will happen within the next two years if not sooner. That's my prediction.

2015 - B98.5 will still be the "new" home of Steve and Vickie.
Ditto for the River being "new" as well.

Actually in 2014 Cox flips 97.1 to "The Noughties Channel". Jeff Dauler will be mornings, ending a five year radio dry spell for Dauler.

Randy and Spiff will be reunited yet again for the 10th time in 2020 on another FM station that starts an oldies format.

If you're seriously interested in where the medium is going, go read a copy of the guy from Ford's keynote speech to the attendees at the CES. That's which way cars are going, and thus that's which way wer're going if we are to survive. Entertainmenty companies, not radio companies. Those who cannpot transition will die. Nothing new there.
