Some observations:

--Looks like Rock100.5 is taking a little bit of River's share with their classic rock format.
--WGST is slowly rebuilding a listener base since returning to talk after being blown up for ESPN Deportes.
--El Patron: Is Regional Mexican a seasonal/cyclical format? Is it just me or does this format suffer in the winter?
--NASH Icon: Still floundering. I'm wondering if Cumulus's plan is to see if they can get any traction with this "AC country" format and then put it on 101.5. So far it doesn't look promising.
--Cox is still having a hella time trying to get X107.1 going. You could also say the same about Cumulus and 106.7.

Does anyone with better numbers have any better insights?

Well, the demo breakouts were just released today, so that tells a somewhat better story. Couple of thoughts on your observations:

It's all about that NASH Icon network. Having an ATL clearance makes the network easier to sell on a nationwide basis than the mostly small and medium markets that its run in elsewhere. As long as Cumulus is committed to the NASH Icon brand, 98.9 is here to stay. I don't think it will ever move to 101.5, as Kicks will be NASHed up eventually, which helps the larger NASH brand get nationwide buys.

To be fair, doesn't this signal cover the market about as well as the translators? Their ratings aren't bad for translators, though they're bad when you're competing for ad dollars with Radio 105.7, which is 3rd in 18-34. How many $5 spots do you need to sell to cover expenses? I still think, given the older-geared formats ran on Cox's other stations, something like Classic Hits or "Jack" would have been a much better choice.

I find it interesting that KISS 104.1 didn't crack top 5 in the 25-54 nor 18-49 demo, but ranks #3 overall. However, Majic 107.5 hit top 3 in both those demos.

Anyone else notice that since X107.1 arrived, Rodney Ho has stopped doing Ratings entries at Radio and TV Talk? I guess Cox put an end to ratings updates since it would highlight the poor performance of X107.1.
