The fact WSRV has no adult hits, classic hits or classic rock competitor on a full market signal continues to astonish me.

Does any other station in a top 20 market command as much AQH share (stream included) as them? Sports Hub in Boston probably comes close on occasion.

They have no Classic Hits competitor that's a full-power FM. But Fox FM has translators on 102.1 and 100.1.

103.7 Chuck FM does variety hits, and can be received decently in the NE quadrant of the market.

89.1 WBCX (class A out of Gainesville, the Brenau college station) does classic pop hits when they don't have a special program on.

WRAS 88.5 HD3 plays oldies, centered on the 1970s.

For some reason, Audacy pulled the plug on WSTR 94.1 HD2 The Classic Sound of Star, which was actually pulling a 0.2 share--the most of any commercial HD signal without a translator. I think they're now Audacy's Channel Q.

WWPW 96.1 HD2 was playing the iHeartRadio 96 Rock stream, but is silent now.

When is the last time a station pulled a 10 share in the ATL market? It might have been River the last time it happened, too.

Very interesting that 97.1 The River's stream is so far up in the ratings. This is not just a courtesy showing.

Is there any thought in the ratings system to merge the stream with the broadcast ratings?

The only way that Nielsen will let stations combine the terrestrial signal and streaming numbers into a single line item is if the stream is a direct simulcast, meaning no separate advertising on the streaming side.

Audacy killed all of their HD2's that were bringing in no revenue except (I think) in the New York market.

As Roddy mentioned, to survive the extra channels needed to produce revenue or at least be part of national programming, especially for the Audacy app. Some of those:

In NYC:
WINS-HD2: Alt 92.3 (displaced format when 1010 WINS simulcast started)
WXBK-HD2: New York's Country 94.7 HD2 (displaced format when 94.7 The Block started)

In L.A.:
KROQ-HD2 Roc of the 80s
KNX-HD2: Channel Q
KNX-HD3: Fire Lane (EDM)

There's a precious few scattered around other Audacy markets, such as:
WMYX-HD2 Milwaukee: MeTV FM
WMYX-HD3 Milwaukee: Caliente 97.9 (leased by El Sol Broadcasting)

HOLY - no one talking about POWER? 1.9 share?? POWER really should work out a deal with FOX FM. Give The River a run for it's money.

Or 92.9 needs to bring back Z93.

92.9 probably bills very well. They'll be back in the fall once football and basketball return.

If Power 96 continues to do that bad, iHeart should bring back 96 Rock.

I think Power needs a live and local morning show to compete with Q99-7. As talented as Jubal is, his Atlanta show consists of tracks from the prior day. (He's in Seattle.) Even a syndicated show that's live would likely be more competitive.

BTW, Jubal gets beaten in his home market by his former station.

I saw the cume numbers for 92-9 and its pretty low so I guess most of the listeners listens for long periods of time. I hear a bunch of ads on the station so they are making money. Plus they do a lot of local sports talk so its very odd to be local until 11pm and local most of the day on the weekends. Its got to be making money to pay for that. I miss the live talk overnights but thats how the business is. Billing trumps ratings everyday,.

There aren't many stations that will take ads for nekkid bars, head shops, and DUI lawyers. Sportstalk and AOR are about it, and River's brand is too genteel for those kinds of advertisers.

Actually, pretty much every commercial station will take ads from at least one those categories. It is the client themself who learns which stations and formats get better response.

And there you see that the issue is the advertiser, not the station.
